INTERCOL games began in the early 1950s with what was the annual rivalry between GBSS and PBC. At the end of the 1950s, SAASS became a part of the games and eventually INTERCOL was expanded to include secondary schools throughout our tri island state. Today, INTERCOL games are being dominated by schools other than GBSS and PBC, with stellar performances from several other schools; namely Mac Donald College, St. David’s Secondary and SAASS.
INTERCOL evolved to embrace the inclusion of female athletes, which has only added to the success and attraction of the meet. Grenada has seen the emergence of many star athletes who have burnished the image of our country internationally; all getting their start from our local INTERCOL games.
